Our Story

Everything changed again in February 2022. The full-scale invasion brought fear, uncertainty, destroyed schools, and upended lives. We couldn’t just stand by; we adapted to meet the needs of the moment. This led us to add a crucial new dimension to our work—psycho-emotional support for teachers and students. We conducted research, published a guidebook, created online art camps, and organized our first offline camps focused on educational recovery for teenagers from border and frontline hromadas.

In 2023, we expanded our focus to include educational recovery, mentorship, psycho-emotional support, English language learning, and ESTEAM (entrepreneurship, science, technology, engineering, arts, and math).

Activity Chronicle

2024

• Conducted the mentorship program «Generation of Victory» for teenagers from border and frontline communities in Sumy, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions.
• Supported four teenagers in implementing their projects — two STEM spaces, one emotional relief room, and a media lab.
• Opened nine ESTEAM Ko_Laba spaces.
• Organized two Dive in ESTEAM camps.
• Launched a pilot project «CATCH», which included camp activities, engaging 27 schools and reaching 850 students and 79 teachers.
• Implemented the Catch up project, involving 20 schools and reaching 1,085 students and 85 teachers.
• Held a significant conference summarizing two years of GoGlobal’s work in mental health support, sharing insights with the educational community.
• Expanded English language access through projects like Go global with GoGlobal and GoGlobal Speaking Clubs.
• Launched a new course, «Modern Teacher: How to Capture Students' Attention with Design and Engaging Content», in partnership with Projector as part of the «Dream and Act» program.
• Started the course «I’m OK», focused on psycho-emotional support and cognitive skill development, created by GoGlobal as part of the «Dream and Act» program.
• Organized two Catch-up camps for high school students from frontline and border communities.
• Conducted two GoResilience Camps, focusing on psycho-emotional support.
• Participated in Ukrzaliznytsia’s «Iron Change» program, teaching English to children.
• Contributed to the national selection for «Junior Eurovision», where our experts conducted team-building and art therapy for participants.

2023

• We conducted the first in-person «Catch-up Camps» — intensive educational sessions for high school students from border and frontline hromadas to address learning losses.
• We developed and launched the pilot online program «I Want to Know!» for high schoolers in these areas, featuring inspiring speaker sessions and catch-up lessons in Ukrainian, English, and math led by our teachers.
• We piloted and scaled the «School Sensitive to Mental Health» program, a psycho-emotional support initiative for educators delivered through cascading training sessions.
• We partnered with the international foundation SavED to implement the UActive civic education project, where students from Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv regions created their own social projects focused on rebuilding their hromadas.
• We held five rounds of GoGlobal Speaking Clubs with foreign volunteers from around the world.
• We launched training sessions for teachers and students with experts from Voice of America.
• We continued the youth initiative #StandForYourself, now focused on promoting volunteerism among youth in light of current realities.

2022

• We adapted to the realities of war, shifting our focus to the urgent psycho-emotional support needed by educators. Through our team and collaborating specialists, we launched «When the World Is on the Brink of Change» — a series of psycho-emotional support training sessions for teachers.
• We published a psychological support guide titled When the World Is on the Brink of Change: Adaptation Strategies.
• We organized a training program for English teachers on trauma-informed teaching approaches.
• We held the online «Creative Camp: We Are from Ukraine!» where students engaged with Ukrainian artists and international volunteers. Additionally, we hosted the online camp UKRAINE is the CAPITAL of GREAT PEOPLE for school teams from across Ukraine, featuring both Ukrainian and foreign volunteers.
• We continued the youth program BombZNO Camp 2022 for children in Bukovina and Transcarpathia, updating the program for Romanian- and Hungarian-speaking school teams from Chernivtsi and Transcarpathian regions, partnering them with Ukrainian teacher-mentors from across the country.
• We conducted the first study on the key challenges faced by Ukrainian educators.

2021

• We launched the online program GOxChange, connecting schools from different regions of Ukraine to support one another in the wake of the full-scale war.
• We organized a thematic Business Camp, where students developed their business projects with mentorship support and learned to present them. The best projects received funding.
• We adapted the GoCamp program to an online format.

2020

Due to the pandemic, we shifted to remote work, conducting several online camps, including the Creative Camp, the English learning program Around the World in 10 Days, and the Entrepreneurial Culture camp.

2019

• We expanded the GOxChange project, transforming it into a nationwide student exchange program involving seven cities across Ukraine. It became a prototype for a national youth mobility program.
  We focused significant attention on integrating Hungarian-speaking and Romanian-speaking students into the Ukrainian context, showcasing pathways for development and realization in Ukraine. The GoGlobal team implemented two relevant programs:

• • BombeZNO – a camp preparing Hungarian-speaking and Romanian-speaking graduates from Zakarpattia and Bukovyna for the Ukrainian language portion of the external independent evaluation (ZNO).
  • Bombesny GoCamp – a camp for students of various ages, featuring both Ukrainian and foreign volunteers, aimed at immersing participants in the Ukrainian context and encouraging the study of the Ukrainian language.

• We launched the #ВліпиЗаСебе initiative to encourage youth participation in the country’s political life.
  We continued the implementation of the GoCamp and GoCamp Afterschool programs.

2018

• We launched the special GoCamp Zakarpattia project for Hungarian-speaking children, immersing them in the Ukrainian context.
• We initiated GOxChange, the first student exchange program between Mariupol and Uzhhorod.
• We continued the implementation of the GoCamp and GoCamp Afterschool programs.

2017

• We continued the GoCamp school camp project.
• We launched GoCamp Afterschool, a series of regular after-school meetings for students with volunteers.

2016

• We initiated the Year of English in Ukraine.
• We launched GoCamp, school language camps that included volunteers from around the world.
• We started a project to teach English to civil servants.

2015

We established the GoGlobal educational foundation.
